Cooking shows have exploded onto television in the last 5 years, and one that is leading the way in Australia is Master Chef.
As you may know Master chef is a television show dedicated to cooking and developing people into ‘master chefs’. So how does Master Chef interact with its customers (viewers) online? Let’s take a look.
The master website showcases several areas to promote viewers to interact with them online as seen below:
The above examples show how Master Chef can promote interaction online, which then could be tracked through cookies. For example, they may monitor which recipes are most ‘clicked’ by viewers, which can then inform future recipes for the TV show. This would be a great way for Master Chef to receive online feedback of the meals cooked on the show.
Master Chef is built from giving the general public an opportunity to apply and participate/compete on television in the show. This could be both exciting and scary at the same time. Would you apply? Whilst I have thought about it, I don’t think I would. I just love being a foodie and cooking. But cooking on a national scale with millions of people watching, not for me unfortunately.
Another process for Master Chef could be to monitor the application statistics by customers. Tracking the frequency and volume of applications for the show, when the applications were submitted (could be just after a broadcast) or how many applications were abandoned is essential data for the show.
